Imagethief blogging for CNET Asia
Continuing my relentless expansion from looney, unkempt fringe blogger to globe-spanning media empire (Imagethief Inc.) I am pleased to announce the launch of my new China technology blog on CNET Asia.
Launched under the slightly regrettable name of "Little Red Blog" (it's a long story), it can be found at:
http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/blog/littleredblog/complete with a grinning mugshot of yours truly that shows off my receding hairline in all its splendor. CNET Asia has also launched tech blogs by several bloggers in other Asian countries.
The CNET tech blog is a bit different from Imagethief (and not just because I'm being paid, although you'd need a microscope see the amount). First, of course, it's all about technology in China, so it doesn't have quite the --ahem-- magisterial sweep of Imagethief. Second, while Imagethief is read primarily by foreigners living in China, the CNET blog is meant to be read by people living elsewhere who are interested in what's happening with China's consumer technology and Internet scenes. So, while written in Imagethief's familiar light'n'breezy style, you hardened China hands may find it a bit of lightweight old hat.
I'm combing the usual distreputable sources for interesting stories, including many of my favorite China blogs from the Imagethief blogroll. There will be two posts a week on a somewhat irregular schedule. While I won't be cross-posting complete entries, I will put a link on Imagethief whenever a new story goes live on CNET, in case you are interested. Four CNET posts are live now:
Will I be able to manage two blogs (as well as various print writing assignments) without getting fired or divorced? Only time will tell. However you may have noticed a slightly more relaxed pace on Imagethief of late. I'm not saying there is a connection, but then I'm not specifically denying it either.
Ain't that just like a flack?
