Ahh the joys of waiting in line at the B.O.C.

If endurance were a sport this would be amateur hour as compared to waiting out cancelled China Eastern flights...but it is still an exercise in patience!

Now that I am back in the states after my 5 in Shanghai I can give away this little secret. The B.O.C. office on Heng Shan Lu in the heart of the old French Concession is rarely crowded and the tellers speak much better English than any of the roughly 20 or so B.O.C. offices I endured.

The most I have had to wait there was about 15 minutes.

Will, such a good opportunity to practice Mandarin with pretty girls.  And here, you've been telling Mrs. I. how unbearable it is in those damned lines.  Life is sweet.

Nothing like having to be paranoid at the bank, fer cryin' out loud.

Here's hoping the next trip is even better. Although it is so entertaining when you have a reason to rant!

Hey - that's my branch too. I find it particularily foreigner friendly. The other one I use is on Fuxing near Maoming.

Will, transfer your account to SPDB, after you confirm that the pretty girls are really there.  Mrs. I. will nonetheless respect you for taking action and asserting yourself instead of complaining about the long lines, and you'll come out smelling like roses and feeling great.  Free non-legal advice.

By the way, the branch at Tai Kang Lu and Si Nan Lu kou has artistic types, very pretty.  Even the aunties are appealing.

I would think you would be held even longer at the counter, as the teller just stares.  That's why I remained clothed.
