Vote for China Law Blog and earn some lawyer karma
I don't carry advertising on Imagethief as a matter of principle. And, of course, because no one will pay me any serious money to reach the small band of eccentrics and malcontents (although apparently very intelligent ones) that constitute my readership. What's the matter with you people? Why aren't you a more commercially viable audience? Would it help if there were more g!rlie pix? Or guy pix? Or livestock or whatever? Let me know. I'm open minded.
Anyway, as I was saying, I don't carry advertising but I am not above a plug for friends. Especially when they are lawyers. I figure its worth earning all the good lawyer karma I can* on the theory that when I am no longer able to outrun my sins and The Man finally comes for me, I'll be able to get some free legal advice.
Although that advice might simply be, "you need to pay for a lawyer".
Thus, I'd like to urge you to go vote for China Law Blog at the ABA Journal's Blawg 100 site. (Blawg. Get it?) Should you need more convincing, Dan's own lawyerly plea is here.
It's a breakaway two horse race between China Law Blog and, inexplicably, a patent law blog called Patently-0, so I am sure Dan will appreciate every vote. I don't really understand why patent law is scoring so high, but I'm pretty sure that China Law Blog is using guanxi. It's only appropriate, after all. Plus, of course, China is fascinating and all that.
To my knowledge no one has ever run an award for the best PR blogs. If they did, I scandalously got left off the ballot. Again, I think it's the g!rlie pix thing. After all, that worked for Strumpette (in the Amanda Chapel era).
*Police and plumbing karma is also probably valuable but I have less chance to earn it.
