Kaiser Kuo: Tricky times ahead for China video sharing sites
Don't miss Kaiser's post at Ogilvy China Digital Watch about regulatory changes that could mean a tough 2008 for China's legion of video-sharing sites. Citing Marbridge Consulting's newsletter, and a conversation with Marbridge head Mark Natkin, Kaiser notes new rules that will clarify the regulatory fog that surrounded video sharing sites in China, as well as government concerns about inappropriate content. All of this on top of growing business pressures on the revenue-starved sites. Read the whole post.
My own prior speculation on such matters, on my old CNET Asia blog, is here. I'm not the only one to have woolgathered on this. The fate of China's video sharing services is something of an evergreen blogging topic.
