Central rome is gorgeous and prosperous. It does, however, have a lot of beggars and hard cases, many of whom seem to be Romany Gypsies.

Romany Gypsies call themselves the "Roma".

Italian for Rome is "Roma".  Signs for city facilities read "Comune di Roma", which one can presumably read either as "City of Rome" or "City of Gypsies".  After all, if they're going to name the damn place after your minority group, wouldn't you want to stay there?

I love Rome.  I love everything about it.  Favorite European city I've visited so far.
